Bacon Wrapped Breadsticks

Ingredients

  • 4 slices bacon
  • 4 breadsticks (7 inch)
  • 2 tablespoons grated parmesan cheese

Recipe

  • 1 wrap 1 slice bacon in spiral-fashion around each breadstick. place on double-thick layer of paper towels on microwaveable plate.
  • 2 microwave on high 2 mins.
  • 3 roll in cheese until coated.

Banana Split Dessert Ii

Total Time: 28 mins Preparation Time: 20 mins Cook Time: 8 mins

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup graham cracker crumbs
  • 1/3 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup melted butter
  • 5 -6 bananas
  • 1/3 cup lemon juice
  • 1/2 gallon strawberry ice cream
  • 1 pint whipping cream
  • 12 maraschino cherries
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1 cup chocolate chips
  • 1 1/2 cups evaporated milk
  • 2 cups powdered sugar

Recipe

  • 1 butter a 9x13 pan. combine graham crumbs, sugar and butter. press firmly onto pan. chill.
  • 2 take bananas and split lengthwize, dipping in lemon juice before lining cake pan.
  • 3 soften ice cream and pour over bananas.
  • 4 whip whipping cream, do not add sugar. spread over cake and top with cherries and nuts. freeze.
  • 5 when ready to serve, make hot fudge sauce as follows: melt butter and chocolate chips. add milk and powdered sugar. bring to a boil and cook for 8 minutes, serve over cake. sauce may be stored and rewarmed in microwave on low.

Congo Bars

Ingredients

  • 6 cups macadamia nuts
  • 1 (1 lb) box graham cracker
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 10 ounces bittersweet chocolate, melted
  • 1 1/2 cups packed sweetened flaked coconut
  • caramel (for cookies)

Recipe

  • 1 heat oven to 350°f.
  • 2 spread macadamia nuts on baking sheet.
  • 3 bake until golden brown, about 10 minutes.
  • 4 set baking sheet on a wire rack to cool.
  • 5 line an 11x18-inch baking pan with parchment paper.
  • 6 using a food processor or rolling pin, finely crush graham crackers.
  • 7 place in medium bowl.
  • 8 stir in melted butter press mixture into bottom of prepared baking pan in an even layer.
  • 9 sprinkle the chocolate over the graham crackers.
  • 10 sprinkle coconut over the chocolate.
  • 11 sprinkle the reserved nuts over the coconut.
  • 12 using a microwave or double boiler, heat the caramel until liquid.
  • 13 drizzle caramel over macadamia nuts.

Banana Split Bites (adapted From Bakers Royale)

Ingredients

  • 4 large firm bananas
  • 4 ounces semisweet chocolate, rough chopped
  • 1 cup vanilla ice cream (or your ice cream of choice)
  • 1 cup heavy whipping cream
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • maraschino cherry
  • multi-color candy sprinkles
  • maraschino cherry (to garnish)

Recipe

  • 1 cut bananas into 2 1/2" tall segments (roughly 3 per banana), trim the narrow ends, and leave the skin on. quickly hollow out a 1/2" circle in the center of each banana. add a tiny scoop of ice cream into each hole and put the bananas in the freezer to set for 30 minutes. note that it's best to leave the skins on until just before dipping in chocolate. i removed them before adding the ice cream and the bananas browned slightly.
  • 2 either in your microwave, or in a double boiler, heat the chocolate until it is melted and smooth. whip the cream to soft peaks, add the sugar, and then whip to stiff peaks. set out your sprinkles.
  • 3 remove the banana peel, dip the bottom of the banana in the melted chocolate and quickly coat with sprinkles. set bananas back in the freezer for 5 minutes until the chocolate sets.
  • 4 top with whipped cream (i piped mine on using a plastic bag with a small hole in the corner) and a cherry. serve immediately.

  • 3 ounces light cream cheese, softened
  • 2 teaspoons margarine, melted
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon pepper
  • 1 dash poultry seasoning
  • 2 tablespoons onions, chopped
  • 2 cups cooked chicken, cubed or 2 cups leftover taco meat or 2 cups ground beef or 2 cups turkey
  • 1 (8 ounce) can refrigerated reduced-fat crescent rolls
  • 2 tablespoons milk
  • 2 tablespoons breadcrumbs

  • 1 preheat oven to 350.
  • 2 melt the cream cheese, margarine, salt, pepper, milk and onion either in the microwave for 15-20 seconds or in a small saucepan till melted.
  • 3 blend by hand.
  • 4 pour mixture over chicken and stir.
  • 5 divide chicken mixture into 4 sections.
  • 6 separate crescent roll dough into four rectangles and seal perforations.
  • 7 spoon 1/4 mixture into the center of each.
  • 8 pull opposite corners of dough to the center and seal.
  • 9 sprinkle each "baseball" with breadcrumbs.
  • 10 place on an ungreased cookie sheet.
  • 11 bake at 350 for 20-25 minutes.

Caramel-pecan Pull-aparts

  • 2 (16 ounce) packages frozen dinner rolls, thawed
  • 1 (3 1/2 ounce) package cook and serve butterscotch pudding mix
  • 1/2 cup chopped pecans
  • 1/2 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup margarine or 1/2 cup butter, softened

Recipe

  • 1 preheat oven to 350.
  • 2 cut rolls in half and roll in dry pudding mix.
  • 3 grease an 10 inch fluted tube pan and alternate rolls with pecans.
  • 4 sprinkle remaining pudding over rolls.
  • 5 combine sugar and margarine in bowl;microwave for 30 seconds or until margarine is melted.
  • 6 stir and pour over rolls.
  • 7 cover and let rise until rolls have nearly doubled in size.
  • 8 uncover and bake at 350 for 15 minutes.
  • 9 remove from oven, cover with foil (to avoid over browning) and bake for 15 minutes more.
  • 10 remove and invert onto a plate.
  • 11 eat while warm!

Chocolate Chip Ice Cream Pie

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup chocolate syrup
  • 1/3 cup chocolate chips, semisweet
  • 2 cups crispy rice cereal
  • 1/4 cup sour cream
  • 1 quart chocolate chip ice cream, softened

  • 1 butter a 8-ince pie plate.
  • 2 in a small mirowave-safe bowl mix chocolate syrup and chocolate chips microwave on high until hot around (40 seconds) mixture should be smooth. set aside 1/4 cup of mixture.
  • 3 mix the remaining chocolate mixture and cereal in a medium mixing bowl you are coating the cereal with chocolate. press the mixture over bottom and sides of the pie plate. freeze until firm this should take around 10-15 minutes.
  • 4 now combine the chocolate you set aside and the sour cream in a small bowl and mix well. now on the pie crust spread 1/2 the ice cream in the pie pan. now drizzle about 1/2 the sour cream mixture onto it. top the rest of the ice cream on it and drizzle the remaining sour cream mixture onto it. freeze pie until firm. this should take about an hour.

Caramelized Bacon Twists

  • 1 lb sliced bacon
  • 1/2 cup packed brown sugar
  • 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon

  • 1 preheat oven to 350 degrees. line a 15x10x1 inch baking pan with foil.
  • 2 cut each bacon strip in half lengthwise.
  • 3 combine brown sugar and cinnamon. roll bacon strips in sugar mixture.
  • 4 twist sugared bacon strips and place them on the foil lined baking pan.
  • 5 bake for 15-20 minutes or until crisp.
  • 6 serve immediately or cool. place leftovers in a freezer container and freeze for up to 1 month.
  • 7 to use frozen bacon twists, simply reheat in a microwave.

Banana Split Pie

  • 1 prepared graham cracker crust
  • 2 (8 ounce) packages cream cheese (room temperature)
  • 1 (8 ounce) container cool whip (room temperature)
  • 1 can crushed pineapple (drained)
  • powdered sugar
  • diced banana
  • diced strawberry (fresh or frozen-thawed)
  • maraschino cherry (halved)
  • chopped pecans
  • chocolate icing

Recipe

  • 1 *there really is no measuring when it comes to the fruit.
  • 2 this will be up to you and how much you want in your pie.
  • 3 *with an electric mixer on medium, blend both packages of cream cheese and about 4 tbs.
  • 4 of powdered sugar together.
  • 5 taste the mixture to see if you need to add more of the sugar to suit your taste buds.
  • 6 blend well until the cream cheese is soft and easy to work with.
  • 7 next, fold in your cool whip with a spatula-do not use an electric mixer to do this.
  • 8 blend together until well mixed.
  • 9 next, add in the pecans, bananas, strawberries, cherries, and the pineapple.
  • 10 once everything has been blended together place your pie mixture in your pie shell.

Chocolate Chip Kiss Cookies

  • 1 (9 ounce) bag hershey chocolate kisses
  • 1 cup softened butter
  • 1/3 cup sugar
  • 1/3 cup packed light brown sugar

  • 1/4 cup hershey semisweet mini chocolate chips

  • 1 preheat oven to 375 degrees remove wrappers from hershey kisses.
  • 2 beat butter, granulated sugar, brown sugar and vanilla in large bowl until well blended.
  • 3 add flour to butter mixture: blend until smooth.
  • 4 stir in hershey's semi-sweet mini baking chips.
  • 5 mold scant tablespoons of dough around each hershey kiss covering it completely.
  • 6 shape into balls and place onto ungreased cookie sheets.

  • 1 in large skillet, heat olive oil and brown bacon and hash browns.

Bread And Butter Pudding

  • apricot jam
  • butter
  • 2 teaspoons cinnamon
  • 100 g raisins
  • 100 g almonds
  • 30 ml dark rum
  • 1 liter whole milk
  • 500 ml cream
  • 12 eggs
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 60 ml vanilla essence
  • 2 teaspoons maple syrup

Recipe

  • 1 cut the croissants open and smear a thick layer of butter and apricot jam on them.
  • 2 add the raisins and dark rum in a bowl. microwave them for 1 minute on high until the dark rum is absorbed by the raisins.
  • 3 mix the custard mixture together.
  • 4 put the croissants in an oven baking dish. sprinkle the almonds, raisins and cinnamon over the croissants. then add the custard mixture.
  • 5 let it stand for about 5 minutes. then cover the baking dish with foil and bake for about 30-45 minutes at 350°f.
  • 6 serve hot with a dollop of cream or ice cream.
  • 7 note: you can always and some chocolate chips or caramel chips for variation.

Blackberry Brownie Cobbler

  • 4 cups blackberries, thickened and sweetened
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1/2 cup butter, cut into several pieces

Recipe

  • 1 preheat oven to 350º f.
  • 2 melt chocolate and butter together, i used the microwave.

  • 4 pour sweetened thickened berries in bottom of dish.
  • 5 whisk together sugar, eggs and vanilla extract in bowl.

Artichoke Marsh

Ingredients

  • 1/3 cup green onion (diced)
  • 1 lb cream cheese
  • 1/2 cup fresh spinach (chopped)
  • 1/2-1 artichoke heart, canned,1/2 for each 6 oz.portion

Recipe

  • 1 soften cream cheese and blend in onions and spinach.
  • 2 place in refrigerator to chill.
  • 3 once chilled, portion out using an ice cream scoop.
  • 4 roll 6 oz. portions into balls,
  • 5 wrap and store or freeze until ready to serve.
  • 6 to serve, place one portion into a bowl and microwave on high for about 40 seconds.
  • 7 then, add artichokes and return to microwave for an additional 30 seconds.
  • 8 toast top of dip under the broiler for a few seconds.
  • 9 (1/4 c of lobster or shrimp can be substitute for the artichoke).

Chicken Arizona

Ingredients

  • 2 large chicken breasts (or equivalent)
  • 1 (10 ounce) can diced tomatoes with jalapenos (or green chilies)
  • 1 (7 3/4 ounce) can el pato jalapeno salsa
  • 1 (3 3/4 ounce) can el pato tomato sauce
  • 1 (4 ounce) can diced green chilies
  • 1 (16 ounce) can black beans with jalapenos and lime juice
  • 1 (8 ounce) package neufchatel cheese
  • 1 (16 ounce) jar salsa
  • 1 (16 ounce) can enchilada sauce
  • tortilla

  • 1 sunday: cooking the chicken
  • 2 in a big, oval crock-pot layer chicken and canned tomatoes.
  • 3 add 1-cup water.
  • 4 set crock-pot to low, cover and cook for 5 hours till tender.
  • 5 remove from crock-pot, cover and refrigerate.
  • 6 monday: eat leftovers from sunday or go out to dinner!
  • 7 monday night/tuesday: chicken chili.
  • 8 shred the chicken breasts using two forks (get help, it will go faster with more hands).
  • 9 in your very same big, oval crock-pot place all of the shredded chicken. open and dump in the following: all of the el pato (2 cans) and all of the green chilies (1 can, more if you like spicy, less if you don't). stir.
  • 10 cover, turn crock-pot to low and go to work.

  • 12 in a small saucepan, heat the black beans.
  • 13 microwave tortillas wrapped in moistened paper towels.
  • 14 serve a large scoop of chicken, a scoop of black beans and a tortilla or two on each plate.

  • 17 in a medium saucepan warm leftover chicken and beans. add 1 package neufchatel cheese, stirring until melted.

Cindi's Awesome Crespelle Lasagna

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 4 eggs
  • 1 1/2 cups milk
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • olive oil
  • 1 cup sweet onion, diced
  • 1/2 cup sweet red pepper, diced
  • 1/2 cup sweet green pepper, diced
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 3 tablespoons balsamic vinegar
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 3 garlic cloves (or more)
  • 1 lb sweet italian sausage, without casing
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 (28 ounce) can crushed tomatoes with garlic
  • 1 (28 ounce) can tomato sauce
  • 2 (6 ounce) cans tomato paste
  • 1 teaspoon parsley
  • 1 teaspoon sage
  • 1 teaspoon rosemary
  • 1 teaspoon thyme
  • salt and pepper
  • crushed red pepper flakes
  • 24 ounces ricotta cheese, good quality is important
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/2 cup parmesan cheese
  • 1 1/2 cups mozzarella cheese
  • 1/4 cup parmesan cheese
  • 1/4-1/2 cup mozzarella cheese

Recipe

  • 1 make crespelle batter:.
  • 2 start with the crespelle batter by mixing together flour and salt.
  • 3 in a separate bowl, whisk four eggs plus milk.
  • 4 whisk the eggs into the flour mixture, and beat until you smooth and bubbly.
  • 5 melt butter in microwave.
  • 6 whisk butter into the batter.
  • 7 chill in the fridge for one hour while you make the sauce.
  • 8 make your sauce:.
  • 9 in a very large sauce pot, saute the onions, garlic, and peppers in the 2 tbs of olive oil.
  • 10 as they start cooking, add sugar and balsamic. (red wine can be used if you prefer, but you may need to decrease the sugar a bit unless you like really sweet sauce.).
  • 11 once the liquid evaporates and the veggies are softened, add the meats, and cook until browned. be careful not to overcook, or they will be dry in your sauce!
  • 12 add your cans of sauce, crushed tomatoes, and paste.
  • 13 add your parsley, sage, rosemary, and thyme.
  • 14 simmer for at least one hour, stirring occasionally. keep a very close eye out that the bottom doesn't start burning, as the sweeter the sauce, the easier it burns! don't be afraid to taste as it simmers, and add more sugar, salt, pepper, or crushed red pepper if necessary. remember to add only a little at a time, and then allow time for the flavors to grow before tasting and adding more!
  • 15 note: this is enough sauce for two lasagna's, so reserve half and refrigerate or freeze when done.
  • 16 cook crespelles:.
  • 17 while the sauce simmers, finish making your crespelles.
  • 18 heat a 10 inch non-stick skillet on medium high heat.
  • 19 put a small amount of oil in the bottom of the pan and rub it inches.
  • 20 add 1/4 cup of batter and swirl around the bottom of the pan so it covers making a 10 inch pancake.
  • 21 loosen sides with spatula.
  • 22 when the top appears bubbled and dry, go ahead and flip. crespelle should be very lightly browned on bottom.
  • 23 give another minute or two on this side until brown spots appear on bottom.
  • 24 stack in a plate separated by paper towels so they don't stick.
  • 25 i generally add a dab more oil between every two or three crespelle's.
  • 26 should make about 12 crespelle's, with maybe one or two left over for the kids to snack on. (they love these things plain!).
  • 27 preheat your oven to 375.
  • 28 make your filling:.
  • 29 beat two eggs into the ricotta.
  • 30 add 1/2 cup of parmesan and 1 1/2 cups mozzarella. (note, if you use lasagna noodles in place of the crespelle, use a bit more cheese for 'body'.).
  • 31 to make the lasagna:.
  • 32 spray the bottom of a lasagna pan with pam.
  • 33 place two crespelle's on the bottom of the pan, and tear parts of another one to fill in the two gaps on the side if necessary.
  • 34 add about 1/2 - 3/4 cup of sauce to lightly cover the crespelle with sauce.
  • 35 add one third of the cheese filling a teaspoon at a time, spreading over the sauce.

Artichoke Spinach Casserole

  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 3 (10 ounce) packages frozen chopped spinach
  • 1 (8 ounce) package cream cheese

  • 1 cup onion (chopped)
  • 1 cup swiss cheese (shredded)
  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika

Recipe

  • 1 drain and halve artichoke hearts; saute in butter,then cool.

  • 3 mix spinach with artichoke hearts,cream cheese, salt, pepper and onions.

Buttermilk Bacon Pralines

  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup packed light brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup buttermilk
  • 1 tablespoon light corn syrup
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda

  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter (1/2 stick)
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon grated orange zest (optional)
  • 1 cup chopped pecans

Recipe

  • 1 slice off the top of each bell pepper; use a spoon to scoop out the seeds and membranes.
  • 2 put the peppers, open side up, in an 8-inch square casserole dish that has a lid.

  • 1 fit pie shell dough into 9 inch tart pan with a removable bottom.preheat oven and bake tart shell according to package directions. let cool completely.
  • 2 combine sugar, water and corn syrup in a small, heavy saucepan. bring to a boil over medium heat without stirring. continue cooking without disturbing until mixture turns golden, reduce heat to low, carefully drizzle in 3/4 cup cream and then stir until smooth.

  • 1 in a pyrex mixing bowl, combine milk, 1/2 c sugar, salt and 1/2 c butter. heat in microwave until butter is melted.

Chicken Boodles O' Noodles Soup

  • 1/2 lb boneless chicken, uncooked, cubed (i use chicken breast)
  • 2 slices onions, chopped (large onion)
  • 1 -2 stalk celery, chopped
  • 2 (15 ounce) cans chicken broth
  • 2 carrots, sliced or diced
  • 3 tablespoons chicken soup base
  • 8 ounces kluski noodles
  • pepper
  • 5 cups water

Recipe

  • 1 in large kettle, mix the chicken broth with the uncooked diced chicken, onions, carrots and celery. add a few shakes of pepper.
  • 2 bring to a boil and add 5 cups of water and the chicken soup base; mix well. stir while bringing to a boil again; reduce heat, cover and simmer on low for approximately 1 hour.
  • 3 meanwhile, in a separate pan, follow package directions to cook the kluski noodles. boil the noodles for about 17 minutes; drain.
  • 4 add noodles to the soup mixture and bring to a boil. reduce heat, cover and simmer approximately 30 minutes, stirring occasionally. serve immediately.
  • 5 note: if leftovers are refrigerated, the noodles have a tendency to soak up most of the broth overnight. you can add a little water and reheat in the microwave without affecting the flavor.

  • 2 in 2-quart saucepan, heat milk, butter, and caramels over low heat, stirring constantly, until caramels are melted. pour over cereals, stirring until evenly coated. spread in pan.
  • 3 bake 20 to 24 minutes, stirring after 10 minutes, until golden brown. spread on waxed paper to cool, about 15 minutes.
  • 4 in microwavable bowl, microwave chocolate chips uncovered on high about 1 minute or until chocolate can be stirred smooth (bowl will be hot). drizzle chocolate over snack. refrigerate about 30 minutes or until chocolate is set. store in airtight container. enjoy. =).
