Bread Machine Dilly Onion Bread

Total Time: 1 hr 5 mins Preparation Time: 5 mins Cook Time: 1 hr

Ingredients

  • 1 cup cream-style cottage cheese
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 1 egg (slightly beaten)
  • 2 tablespoons butter (cut up)
  • 3 cups bread flour
  • 2 teaspoons sugar
  • 3 teaspoons dill seeds
  • 1 tablespoon dried onion flakes
  • 3/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/8 teaspoon pepper
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons dry yeast
  • butter
  • 1/4 teaspoon kosher salt

Recipe

  • 1 select dough cycle.
  • 2 add ingredients to machine according to manufacturer's directions.
  • 3 when dough cyle is done, remove dough, knead 3-4 times on lightly floured board.
  • 4 in a greased or oiled 2 quart dish add dough, turn to cover in oil.
  • 5 allow to rise under a warm dish towel and or in microwave oven till double.
  • 6 bake at 350 degrees for about 30-40 minutes or till nicely browned.
  • 7 remove from oven, rub with butter and sprinkle with freshly ground kosher salt or pre-ground kosher salt.
  • 8 serve warm with dark lager beer,wine or orange juice as desired.

Caramel Cheesecake

Ingredients

  • Servings: 16
  • 1 1/4 cups graham cracker crumbs
  • 1/4 cup butter, melted
  • 1 (9 ounce) package caramels, unwrapped
  • 1 (14 ounce) can sweetened condensed milk
  • 3 tablespoons milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 3 (8 ounce) packages cream cheese
  • 4 eggs
  • 1/2 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips (optional)
  • 2 tablespoons milk (optional)

Recipe

  • 1 preheat oven to 300°f.
  • 2 mix the graham cracker crumbs and the melted butter and press into the bottom of a 9" springform pan.
  • 3 mix the caramels, sweenened condensed milk and 3 tablespoons milk in a large microwave safe bowl, microwave for approximately 5 minutes, stirring well every minute or so until the caramels are melted and the mixture is smooth.
  • 4 add the vanilla and stir well.
  • 5 add the cream cheese and mix with an electric mixer until combined then mix on high for a minute or so.
  • 6 add the eggs one at a time, mixing until well combined.
  • 7 pour the mixture over the crust and bake for 60 minutes at 300°f.
  • 8 remove from oven and immediately run a knife around the edge of the pan to help prevent cracking.
  • 9 cool then chill in refrigerator for several hours before serving.
  • 10 optional chocolate topping: mix chocolate chips with two tablespoons milk and microwave for approximately 1 minute, stir until smooth and creamy then spread on top of cheesecake.

Corn And Leek Saute

Ingredients

  • Servings: 6
  • 4 ears fresh corn ( or yellow)
  • 1 leek
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • salt
  • black pepper
  • 1 garlic clove, minced

Recipe

  • 1 microwave corn 10 minutes, 2 ears at a time. leave the corn in the husk and drape a damp paper towel over the top. i cut off the base of the corn husk if it's too long to fit in the microwave.
  • 2 after removing the corn from the microwave run cold water over it to cool the corn enough to shuck it.
  • 3 after husk has been removed stand it on end over a cutting board or bowl and using a downward sawing motion cut off the kernals. then go back over the cob and remove all the tiny bits still remaining.
  • 4 rinse the leek and cut off dark green part, keeping and light green part. slice in thin slices (about 1/4 inch).
  • 5 melt butter over medium-high heat.
  • 6 add minced garlic and leeks.
  • 7 cover and reduce heat to medium.
  • 8 once the leeks are tender (about 5-7 minutes) add corn.
  • 9 salt and pepper to taste.
  • 10 cook for an additional 2 minutes to reheat corn.

Artichoke Dip

Ingredients

  • 1 pint mayonnaise
  • 10 ounces grated cheese (any kind you like)
  • 1/8 cup finely chopped onion
  • 1 teaspoon parsley
  • 1 teaspoon green onion top, chopped very fine
  • 1/4 teaspoon hot sauce
  • 2 (14 ounce) cans artichoke hearts, chopped

Recipe

  • 1 mix all ingredients together except the artichokes; microwave for 2 minutes only. stir until it becomes a smooth blended cream.
  • 2 add chopped artichoke hearts; stir and microwave 7 more minutes. stir and serve.

Chicken And Roasted Red Pepper Panini Style Sandwiches

Total Time: 20 mins Preparation Time: 10 mins Cook Time: 10 mins

Ingredients

  • 1 cooked chicken breast, sliced (or you can use the ready-made chicken slices in the grocery store)
  • 1 (12 ounce) jar roasted red peppers
  • 8 slices mozzarella cheese
  • 4 tablespoons mayonnaise
  • 2 tablespoons ranch dressing
  • 1 loaf focaccia bread
  • olive oil flavored cooking spray

Recipe

  • 1 cut 8 thick slice of foccacia bread.
  • 2 mix mayonaisse and ranch dressing in small bowl.
  • 3 spread mayo mixture on 4 slices of foccacia.
  • 4 on top of mayo mixture, layer each slice with equal amounts of chicken and place one slice of mozzarella cheese.
  • 5 next, add the roasted red peppers and another slice of mozzarella on top of the peppers (this helps hold the sandwich together).
  • 6 top each sandwich with remaining slices bread.
  • 7 spray frying pan with olive oil spray (or other cooking spray).
  • 8 fry each sandwich on medium until they are golden brown.
  • 9 pop the sandwiches in the microwave for about 20-25 seconds to melt the cheese.
  • 10 enjoy! these are so yummy!

Buttermilk Bread

  • 1 1/4 cups buttermilk
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons salt
  • 1/4 cup liquid honey
  • 3 tablespoons margarine
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup powdered milk (i use whole milk powder)
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 2 teaspoons bread machine yeast

Recipe

  • 1 let the buttermilk come to room temperature or microwave until almost warm.
  • 2 add the ingredients to the machine in order given.
  • 3 set on dough cycle.
  • 4 when complete, remove dough and shape into a log and place in a pam sprayed loaf pan.
  • 5 let rise in a warm place until doubled in size or about 1 hour.
  • 6 bake in a preheated 325 degree oven for 30 minutes.

10-minute Valentines Candies

Ingredients

  • Servings: 20
  • chocolate (however much you want- you can imagine how much it'll make)
  • red food coloring
  • 2 tablespoons crisco shortening

Recipe

  • 1 melt the chocolate and shortening in a double-boiler (or the microwave, if you're extremely careful not to burn!).
  • 2 pour onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper or wax paper. drop a few drops of red food coloring onto the chocolate, scattered around. swirl the coloring with a fork.
  • 3 once the chocolate is starting set (you'll know because it won't be so shiny), you can take a toothpick and cut out heart shapes. they might look kind of messy, but you can clean them up once they're removed. once dry, break up the chocolate around the hearts. enjoy!

Buttermilk Biscuits

Ingredients

  • 1 3/4 cups all-purpose flour, divided
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 8 tablespoons cold unsalted butter, divided
  • 3/4 cup buttermilk

Recipe

  • 1 preheat the oven to 450f and grease a baking sheet.
  • 2 sift 1 1/2 cups of the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt into a bowl. add 7 tablespoons butter, working with your fingers, until the mixture has no lumps.
  • 3 stir in the buttermilk and let the mixture stand for a few minutes.
  • 4 sprinkle the remaining 1/4 cup flour on a board or waxed paper. dip your hands into the flour, then scoop up the wet dough, adding only enough flour to make it manageable. pat the dough into a rectangle about ½-inch thick on the floured surface. dip a 2-inch glass or a cookie cutter into the flour and then into the dough, cutting the circles and placing them on the baking sheet, 1 inch apart. repeat with the remaining dough, molding any scraps into circles. prick the tops of biscuits with the tines of a fork.
  • 5 melt remaining 1 tablespoon of butter in a small saucepan or the microwave and brush biscuits with the melted butter. bake for 8 to 10 minutes or until golden.

Chicken, Apple, And Yam Hash

  • 8 ounces yams
  • 5 ounces boneless skinless chicken thighs, cooked and diced
  • 1 medium apple, i use gala variety
  • cooking spray
  • 1 dash garlic salt
  • 1 dash black pepper
  • 1 dash crushed red pepper flakes

Recipe

  • 1 pierce the skin of the yam a few times and cook in microwave oven on high for 3-4 minutes or until the yam is about 80% cooked. (you can sub a leftover baked yam for this step).
  • 2 remove from microwave and peel off skin. dice into bite sized pieces.
  • 3 heat a nonstick pan over medium to medium high heat and coat with some cooking spray (i use butter flavor). add in the chicken and diced yams. let it cook without tossing or stirring for about 3 minutes, then give it a stir or toss.
  • 4 meanwhile, dice the apple leaving the skin on. add these to the chicken and yams once they've been in the pan about 5 minutes. add the seasonings.
  • 5 continue to cook another 5 minutes or so stirring/tossing occasionally until the apple softens (hit it with more cooking spray if needed).
  • 6 enjoy!

Chicken Wraps

Ingredients

  • Servings: 6
  • 2 chicken breasts, boiled and shredded
  • 2 cups mexican blend cheese, shredded
  • 1 (15 1/2 ounce) can black beans
  • 1 (13 5/8 ounce) can spinach
  • 1 (15 1/4 ounce) can corn
  • 1 cup cilantro
  • 6 large flour tortillas
  • ranch dressing

Recipe

  • 1 mix together beans, spinach, and corn and heat in the microwave for 3 minutes.
  • 2 put one or two tortilla shell on your griddle or in your skillet at around 350 degrees and heat for a few seconds.
  • 3 flip over, sprinkle with cheese and then some chicken, the bean and veggie mixture, and some cilantro.
  • 4 let sit until just after the cheese melts. you want the outside to be crunchy.
  • 5 take off the griddle and roll up like a burrito. cut in half at an angle and serve with ranch for dipping.
  • 6 enjoy!

Company Corn

  • 2 (14 ounce) cans corn
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 1/3 cup celery, chopped
  • 1/3 cup butter or 1/3 cup margarine
  • 2 tablespoons parsley
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon savory
  • 1/2 teaspoon pepper
  • 3/4 cup sour cream
  • 1 teaspoon lemon juice

Recipe

  • 1 saute onion and celery in butter till tender.
  • 2 stir in parsley, salt, savor and pepper.
  • 3 drain corn and add onion/celery mixture to microwavable casserole dish.
  • 4 microwave on high 5 minutes.
  • 5 stir in sour cream and lemon juice.
  • 6 serve!

Cream Cheese Dessert Pizza

Ingredients

  • 1 pizza crust mix (may use homemade recipe)
  • 1 (8 ounce) container flavor of choice cream cheese spread (i used honey nut)
  • 1/2 cup flour
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup butter
  • 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon (optional)

Recipe

  • 1 preheat oven to 400 degrees.
  • 2 prepare pizza crust according to directions as desired. i made it with a crispy crust.
  • 3 remove the lid and seal from the cream cheese. microwave on high for 15-20 seconds until it is very soft and spreadable.
  • 4 spread softened cream cheese on prepared crust.
  • 5 mix together the flour, cinnamon and sugar.
  • 6 cut in butter until it resembles coarse crumbs.
  • 7 sprinkle the flour mixture on top of cream cheese.
  • 8 bake for 12-17 minutes, or according to pizza crust dirctions, until done.

Company's Coming Mashed Potatoes

Ingredients

  • Servings: 6
  • 2 lbs simply potatoes traditional mashed potatoes
  • 2 ounces soft fresh goat cheese, cubed (chevre)
  • 2 ounces cream cheese, cubed
  • 2 tablespoons butter, cubed
  • 2 slices bacon, cooked and crumbled
  • 1/2 medium red bell pepper, diced
  • 1/2 medium green bell pepper, diced
  • 3 green onions, thinly sliced (if they are large use 2 1/2)
  • 1/8 teaspoon salt (to taste)
  • 1/8 teaspoon pepper
  • 1/2 cup cheddar cheese, shredded, divided
  • 1/2 cup parmesan cheese, grated, divided (not the canned type)

Recipe

  • 1 preheat the oven to 350 degrees, and greased a baking dish.
  • 2 peel the film at the corner of the simply potatoes package to vent and heat on high for 3 minutes in the microwave. carefully remove the film (be careful not to burn yourself with steam) and stir. microwave on high for 1 more minute.
  • 3 in a large bowl, mix the potatoes, goat cheese, cream cheese, and butter. stir together until well-blended.
  • 4 carefully stir in the crumbled bacon, bell pepper, green onions, and pepper. taste at this point and see if you want to add the salt. stir in 1/3 cup of the cheddar and parmesan cheese until well combined.
  • 5 transfer to a prepared baking dish and sprinkle with the remaining cheese.
  • 6 bake, uncovered, for 20 to 25 minutes or until heated through.

Corn And Mozzarella Pizza

  • 2 ears shucked corn
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1/4 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes
  • 1 garlic clove, minced
  • 3/4 cup water, divided
  • 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour, divided
  • 1 tablespoon unsweetened applesauce
  • 2 tablespoons skim milk
  • 1 1/4 teaspoons salt, divided
  • 2 tablespoons cornmeal, divided
  • 1 cup shredded fat free mozzarella cheese, divided (i use kroger brand or kraft free)
  • 1 cup very thinly sliced red onion, divided
  • 2 tablespoons chopped chives, divided
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons grated lime rind, divided

Recipe

  • 1 place the shucked corn on broiler pan and broil 10 minutes, turning as one side gets browned.
  • 2 cool and cut kernels from corn to measure 1 cup and set aside.
  • 3 place the oil and red pepper in a microwave safe bowl and microwave on high for 30 seconds.
  • 4 sir in garlic and set aside.
  • 5 dissolve the yeast in 1/4 cup warm water in large bowl and let stand for 20 minutes.
  • 6 add the 2 cups flour, 1/2 cup warm water, milk, applesauce and 3/4 teaspoon salt to yeast mixture and mix well.
  • 7 turn dough out on floured surface.
  • 8 knead until smooth and elastic.
  • 9 add enough remaining flour to prevent dough from sticking to hands.
  • 10 place dough in large bowl coated with cooking spray, turning to coat top.
  • 11 cover and let rise in a warm place free of drafts, 40 minutes or until doubled in size.
  • 12 punch dough down, cover and let rest for 5 minutes.
  • 13 preheat oven to 500 degrees.
  • 14 divide dough in half and roll each half into a 9 inch circle on a floured surface.
  • 15 place each portion on a pizza pan or baking sheet coated with cooking spray and 1 tablespoon cornmeal or place on pizza stone.
  • 16 crimp edges of dough with fingers to form a rim.
  • 17 brush one dough portion with half of oil mixture, sprinkle with 1/2 cup of cheese, corn, and onion.
  • 18 sprinkle with 1 teaspoon salt.
  • 19 bake at 500 degrees for 8 minutes or until golden.
  • 20 sprinkle with 1 tablespoon chives and 3/4 teaspoon lime rind.
  • 21 repeat with remaining ingredients.
  • 22 a serving is half of one pizza!
  • 23 dive in, it is so good.

Caramel Chocolate Shortbread

Total Time: 50 mins Preparation Time: 30 mins Cook Time: 20 mins

Ingredients

  • 4 ounces butter, softened (115g)
  • 6 ounces flour (175g)
  • 2 ounces golden caster sugar (55g)
  • 7 ounces butter (200g)
  • 4 ounces golden caster sugar (115g)
  • 2 tablespoons golden syrup
  • 14 fluid ounces condensed milk (400ml)
  • 7 ounces chocolate, broken into pieces (200g)

Recipe

  • 1 preaheat oven to 180c/350f/gas mark 4. grease and ine the base of a 23cm/9" square pan.
  • 2 place butter, flour, and sugar in a food processor and process until they begin to bind together. press the mixture into the prepared pan, and smooth the top. bake for 20-25 minutes, or until golden.
  • 3 meanwhile, make the filling. place the butter, sugar, syrup, and condensed milk in a saucepan and heat gently until the sugar has dissolved. bring to a boil and simmer for 6-8 minutes, stirring constantly, until the mixture becomes very thick. remove the shortbread base from the oven, pour the filling over top, and chill in refrigerator until firm.
  • 4 to make topping, melt chocolate in a heatproof bowl set over a saucepan of gently simmering water (or in microwave, in 30 second intervals.) remove from heat, leave to cool slightly, then spread or drizzle over caramel. chill in refrigerator until set. cut into 12 pieces with a sharp knife and serve.

Artichoke Dip

  • 2 cans artichoke hearts (drained)
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 4 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup parmesan cheese
  • salt

Recipe

  • 1 coarsely chop drained artichoke hearts.
  • 2 blend with all other ingredients.
  • 3 bake 20 minutes at 325*, or put in microwave and microwave on high for 4-5 minutes, stirring once.
  • 4 (i prefer baking the dip because the top gets nice and golden brown.).
  • 5 serve with crackers or toasted bread.
  • 6 ***note-fatfree sour cream and cream cheese can be used.

Corn And Green Chili Tamale Casserole

  • 24 ounces frozen chicken tamales or 24 ounces beef tamales
  • 1 (10 ounce) package frozen corn, unthawed
  • 1 (4 ounce) can green chilies, diced
  • 3 green onions, chopped
  • 1 cup fresh cilantro, chopped
  • 1 cup whipping cream
  • 1 (7 ounce) can salsa verde
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon pepper
  • 2 cups monterey jack cheese, grated
  • 1 avocado, wedges (optional)
  • salsa verde (optional)

Recipe

  • 1 preheat oven to 375°f.
  • 2 place frozen tamales in microwave and cook on high until thawed, about 5 minutes.
  • 3 remove husks.
  • 4 cut tamales in half lengthwise.
  • 5 place in single layer in 10-inch-diameter glass pie dish.
  • 6 sprinkle with frozen corn, chilies, green onions and 1/2 cup cilantro.
  • 7 whisk cream, salsa verde, chili powder, cumin, salt and pepper in medium bowl to blend; drizzle over casserole.
  • 8 sprinkle grated cheese over top.
  • 9 bake casserole until heated through and bubbling, about 35 minutes.

Black Cherry Layered Pretzel Dessert

Ingredients

  • Servings: 9
  • 1 1/2 cups cola-flavored carbonated beverage (12 oz. can)
  • 1 1/4 cups crushed pretzels
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 6 tablespoons butter, melted
  • 2 (3 ounce) packages black cherry gelatin
  • 1 (11 3/4 ounce) jar smucker's® black cherry flavored topping
  • 2 1/4 cups frozen whipped topping, thawed, divided

Recipe

  • 1 heat oven to 375°f pour cola in microwave-safe measuring cup or bowl. let stand, stirring occasionally, while preparing crust. combine crushed pretzels, sugar and butter until moistened. press evenly in 8x8-inch baking pan. bake 10 to 12 minutes or until lightly toasted. cool completely.
  • 2 microwave cola on high 2 minutes or until boiling. pour over gelatin in medium bowl. stir gently 2 to 3 minutes until gelatin is dissolved and foam disappears. stir in black cherry topping. chill 10 to 15 minutes or until just slightly thickened.
  • 3 measure 1 1/4 cups whipped topping in small bowl. add 1/2 cup gelatin mixture, stirring until evenly blended. spread over cooled pretzel crust. chill 10 minutes. spoon remaining gelatin mixture over whipped topping layer. chill 1 hour or until firm. top with remaining 1 cup whipped topping.

Cinnamon French Toast Bake

Ingredients

  • 1/4 cup butter or 1/4 cup margarine, melted
  • 2 (12 1/2 ounce) cans refrigerated cinnamon rolls
  • 6 eggs
  • 1/2 cup heavy whipping cream
  • 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla
  • 1 cup chopped pecans
  • 1 cup maple syrup
  • icing, from cinnamon rolls
  • powdered sugar
  • 1/2 cup maple syrup, if desired

Recipe

  • 1 heat oven to 375°f pour melted butter into ungreased 13x9-inch (3-quart) glass baking dish. separate both cans of dough into 16 rolls; set icing aside. cut each roll into 8 pieces; place pieces over butter in dish.
  • 2 in medium bowl, beat eggs. beat in cream, cinnamon and vanilla until well blended; gently pour over roll pieces. sprinkle with pecans; drizzle with 1 cup syrup.
  • 3 bake at 375°f for 20 to 28 minutes or until golden brown. cool 15 minutes. meanwhile, remove covers from icing; microwave on medium (50%) for 10 to 15 seconds or until drizzling consistency.
  • 4 drizzle icing over top; sprinkle with powdered sugar. if desired, spoon syrup from dish over individual servings. serve with the additional 1/2 cup maple syrup.

Bread Bowl Artichoke Dip - Pampered Chef

  • 2 (16 ounce) sourdough bread rounds, divided (about 6-in. diameter)
  • vegetable oil
  • 4 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 (14 ounce) can water-packed artichoke hearts, drained
  • 1 (1 1/2 ounce) envelope vegetable soup mix (or 2 envelopes)
  • 1 garlic clove, pressed
  • 1 lemon
  • 1 (8 ounce) container sour cream
  • parmesan cheese, grated fresh (optional)

Recipe

  • 1 preheat oven to 450°f using color coated bread knife, slice off top of one bread round to create a lid; set lid aside. carefully remove center of bread round to form a 4½-inch-wide and 2-inch-deep well for dip. slice center of first and entire second bread round into 1-in. cubes. place bread bowl on center of large round stone with handles. arrange bread cubes around bowl; spray with vegetable oil using kitchen spritzer.
  • 2 in classic batter bowl, whisk cream cheese until smooth using stainless whisk. add milk to cream cheese; whisk until smooth.
  • 3 chop artichokes using food chopper. add artichokes, soup mix and garlic pressed with garlic press to batter bowl; mix well using small mix ’n scraper®.
  • 4 microwave on high 5-7 minutes or until hot (do not boil). juice lemon using juicer to measure 2 tbsp juice. stir juice and sour cream into hot artichoke mixture; pour into bread bowl.

  • 1 put two paper bags together (one inside the other).
  • 2 pour the entire box of chex into the bag(s) and set aside.
  • 3 melt the butter, sugar and corn syrup in a saucepan on med-high heat until boiling, stir constantly.
  • 4 boil for 1 1/2 minutes.
  • 5 pour the mixture on top of the chex in the bag, roll down the top of the bag and shake well.
  • 6 put the bag into the microwave for 20 seconds, remove and shake.
  • 7 repeat step #6 four times.
  • 8 spread the chex onto a cookie sheet (works best on one with edges), lightly sprayed with butter-flavored pam.
  • 9 stir frequently as it cools, so it doesn't harden into one big clump.

  • 2 one day before cooking: warm up the milk and add to the dry bread crumbs.

  • 5 add the butter, onion, parsley, eggs, salt, and nutmeg to the bread.
  • 6 knead until firm.
  • 7 store overnight in a closed container, refrigerated.

Chocolate Chip Ice Cream Pie

  • 1 quart chocolate chip ice cream or 1 quart mint chocolate chip ice cream, softened (or any other flavour you desire. frozen yogurt also works well, but you might want to cut back on th)

Recipe

  • 1 using butter or vegetable oil (spray oil like pam can be used), lightly coat bottom and sides of an 8-inch pie plate.
  • 2 combine chocolate chips and syrup in a small microwavable bowl.
  • 3 microwave on high (100% power) until hot, about 45 seconds.
  • 4 the chocolate chips will keep their shape even after heating them up.
  • 5 stir mixture until smooth and put aside 1/4 cup of it in reserve for later use.
  • 6 mix remaining chocolate mixture with the cereal in a medium bowl until the cereal is well coated with the chocolate.
  • 7 press cereal mixture over bottom and sides of the prepared pie plate to create a crust.
  • 8 freeze until firm, about 15 minutes.
  • 9 combine reserved chocolate with the sour cream in a small bowl and mix well.

  • 3/4 teaspoon fresh thyme, minced

  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped

  • 1 1. adjust oven rack to lower-middle position and heat oven to 350 degrees. combine ¾ cup broth, rice, and ¼ teaspoon salt in medium bowl and microwave, covered, until liquid is absorbed, 6 to 8 minutes.
  • 2 2. meanwhile, pat chicken dry with paper towels and season with salt and pepper. heat oil in medium saucepan over medium-high heat until just smoking. cook chicken until browned all over, about 10 minutes; transfer to plate.

  • 6 medium green peppers
  • 2 cups whole grain rice
  • 1 large boneless skinless chicken breast, cubed
  • 1 pinch seasoning salt
  • 1 pinch garlic powder
  • 1/2 medium onion, diced
  • 2 cups low sodium spaghetti sauce
  • 1/2 cup fat-free parmesan cheese
  • 1/2 cup fat-free shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 2 teaspoons hot sauce, to taste
  • 1/2 cup water
  • additional fat free mozzarella cheese

Recipe

  • 1 preheat oven to 400.
  • 2 cut the tops off of the peppers and scoop out seeds and insides so the pepper is hollow. stand peppers in a deep baking dish. set aside.
  • 3 cook whole grain rice according to package directions (i used success boil-in-bag; it turns out perfect every time in the microwave). make sure to drain and fluff rice as soon as it's done cooking.
  • 4 while rice is cooking, sprinkle seasoned salt and garlic powder over cubed chicken breast (season to taste). cook in a large saucepan, adding diced onion halfway through cooking. cook until chicken is no longer pink and onion is tender.
  • 5 set burner heat to low and add rice and spaghetti sauce to chicken in saucepan. stir until well combined.
  • 6 stir in parmesan and mozzarella cheeses to chicken mixture. stir until well combined and mozzarella cheese has melted.
  • 7 add garlic powder and hot sauce (more or less of each to taste -- we like stuff spicy around here!) to chicken mixture and stir to combine.
  • 8 let the mixture cook on low heat for about 10 minutes to blend flavors.
  • 9 remove from heat and divide equally and fill the 6 green peppers with chicken mixture. if it's not enough to fill them to the top, i just mix more spaghetti sauce and extra rice to get them filled.
  • 10 add 1/2 c water to the bottom of the deep baking dish to help peppers cook. bake in oven 45 minutes or until pepper cups are mostly tender with just a little crunch.
  • 11 serve with additional shredded mozzarella to sprinkle over the tops of peppers.

  • 3 pour onto dry ingredients in bread machine on the dough setting.
  • 4 when dough is done, put it onto a lightly floured surface.
  • 5 knead in enough flour to make it easy to handle.
  • 6 if it is too elastic, cover and leave 10 minutes.
  • 7 use floured rolling pin to roll out dough on floured surface.
  • 8 roll out into rectangular shape to approx 1/4-inch thick.
  • 9 use filling and spread over entire surface of dough with spoon.
  • 10 roll up dough.
  • 11 cut into circle with a sharp knife about 1-inch thick; place these in a greased 9x13-inch pan.

  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 2 eggs
  • 3 1/4 cups whole wheat flour
  • 4 ml salt
  • 2 tablespoons gluten

Recipe

  • 1 microwave buttermilk for 30secs to a minute so it's lukewarm.
  • 2 add all ingredients to breadmachine in the order listed.
  • 3 select 1.5 lbs loaf
  • 4 note: due to difference in moisture content of flour you may want to watch bread mixture to ensure the right consistency. if the mixture is too dry add one tablespoon of buttermilk and a time & if it's too wet add a tablespoon of flour at a time. make sure the buttermilk or flour is completely incorporated before adjusting again.

  • 1 soften cream cheese in microwave, just until workable. in large bowl, mix thoroughly the cream cheese and sour cream. then add all other ingredients. mix well.
  • 2 you can use low fat or fat free cream cheese and sour cream. it does not affect the taste. the longer you let this dip sit, the stronger the onion and garlic flavors become. you can also substitute turkey or ham for the beef, this is personal preference.

  • 2 cups crisp rice cereal
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 1 quart chocolate chip ice cream, softened

Recipe

  • 1 coat bottom and sides of an 8 inch pie plate lightly with butter.
  • 2 combine chocolate syrup and chips in a small microwave-safe bowl.
  • 3 microwave on high until hot, about 45 seconds.
  • 4 stir until smooth.
  • 5 reserve 1/2 cup of the chocolate mixture.
  • 6 combine remaining chocolate mixture and cereal in a medium bowl and mix to coat cereal.
  • 7 press mixture over bottom and up sides of prepared pie plate.
  • 8 freeze until firm, about 15 minutes.
  • 9 combine reserved chocolate mixture and the sour cream in a small bowl and mix well.

  • 1 (1 lb) cinnamon-swirl bread (*, for appx 16 cups cubed)
  • 6 large eggs
  • 1 1/2 cups half-and-half
  • 1 1/2 cups reduced-fat milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 5 tablespoons butter or 5 tablespoons margarine
  • 3/4 cup chopped walnuts (3 oz) or 3/4 cup pecans (3 oz)
  • maple syrup, for serving
  • sliced fresh berries, for serving (optional)

Recipe

  • 1 spray a 9x13" baking dish or glass pan that is safe to go into a hot oven when its cold (such as pyrex or corningware).
  • 2 cut bread into bite-sized cubes; place 1 1/2 c of cubes into quart sized ziploc bag and remaining cubes into baking dish. set aside.
  • 3 whisk eggs well in a 2qt bowl; whisk in half-and-half, milk, and vanilla and pour over bread cubes in casserole dish.
  • 4 press the bread cubes down into the egg mixture to make sure they are all moistened.
  • 5 cover and refrigerate for at least 8 hours up to 24 hours.
  • 6 when ready to bake, preheat oven to 375*.
  • 7 place butter in a microwave-safe dish; cover with a paper towel and nuke for 30-45 seconds until almost melted. remove and stir until completely melted.
  • 8 add nuts to bag of reserved bread cubes, then pour melted butter into bag. seal and shake until the bread and nuts are coated w/ butter.
  • 9 uncover the casserole dish and press the bread cubes down w/ the back of a spoon to remoisten.
  • 10 scatter the bread cubes/nut mixture over the top, using a spoon to evenly distribute.
  • 11 bake, uncovered, for 45-50 minutes until lightly browned on top and puffed. (baking time will vary depending on how cold the dish is.).
  • 12 let casserole sit for 5-10 minutes before serving. the casserole will settle and deflate a bit as it stands.

  • 14 cut into squares, place on individual plates, and pass maple syrup to drizzle on top. serve with sliced strawberries or other berries or a mixture of berries, if desired.

Bread Machine Condensed Milk Sweet Bread

  • 1 cup water
  • 1/2 cup sweetened condensed milk
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 3 1/3 cups bread flour
  • 2 teaspoons yeast

Recipe

  • 1 put ingredients in bread machine according to your machine's manufacturing directions and set the dough cycle.
  • 2 when done, remove and seperate into 3 sections.
  • 3 roll each section out like snakes and mesh ends together.
  • 4 braid and press ends together.
  • 5 place in baking dish and allow to rise for 25-30 minutes.
  • 6 brush melted butter or egg on top after rising.
  • 7 bake at 340 degrees for 30-45 minutes, until top is golden brown.
  • 8 if a better crust is wanted: heat some water in an oven proof container in the microwave until near boiling. then place water in the oven beside the bread.

Bacon-wrapped Water Chestnuts

  • 2 (10 ounce) cans water chestnuts, drained
  • 1 -2 lb bacon (enough to be able to cover the 2 cans of water chestnuts)
  • 1 cup mayonnaise
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 2 teaspoons vinegar
  • 2 teaspoons soy sauce
  • toothpick

Recipe

  • 1 fry bacon until partially cooked. roll water chestnuts with bacon and secure with toothpicks. put in 9x13 dish.
  • 2 for the mixture: combine mayonnaise, brown sugar, vinegar, and soy sauce - mix well and heat in microwave until warm - about 2-3 minutes. pour over the bacon wrapped chestnuts and let soak in the fridge for 5-8 hours or overnight.
  • 3 prior to serving, take the bacon-wrapped chestnuts out of the mixture and put on a rack with the pan underneath to catch the dfrippings. bake the chestnuts in the oven at 350f until bacon is cooked (approximately 15-20 minutes). heat sauce in microwave until hot (3-5 minutes). put the chestnuts back in the sauce and serve.

Caramel Chex Mix

  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1 dash salt
  • 1/4 cup corn syrup
  • 1/4 teaspoon baking soda
  • 9 cups chex cereal
  • 1 cup mixed nuts or 1 cup pecans
  • 1 (12 ounce) bag m&m's

Recipe

  • 1 microwave butter, brown sugar, salt and corn syrup on high for 4 minutes. add 1/4 t. of baking soda.
  • 2 in brown bag, shake together chex mix and nuts. pour hot mixture over cereal and nuts. microwave in brown bag for 1 and 1/2 minutes on high. shake mixture and microwave 1 minute more. pour out and let cool. once cool, add m&m's.
