Brownie Heaven

Total Time: 35 mins Preparation Time: 10 mins Cook Time: 25 mins

Ingredients

  • Servings: 10
  • 1 (18 ounce) box german chocolate cake mix (uk - 1 box betty crocker chocolate cake mix)
  • 3/4 cup butter (uk - 6 oz)
  • 2/3 cup evaporated milk (uk - 5 oz can carnation milk)
  • 12 ounces mini chocolate chips
  • 14 ounces caramels

Recipe

  • 1 cream butter, beat in cake mix and 1/3 cup of evaporated milk.
  • 2 press 2/3 of mixture into greased 9" x 13" tin and bake at 350° (180° c) for 6 - 8 minutes.
  • 3 empty chocolate drops evenly over semi-cooked mixture. (chocolate drops should be plain choc but i couldn't get that into the ingredients list).
  • 4 put rest of evaportated milk and caramels in a bowl and melt in microwave (go carefully and stir every 20 - 30 seconds until all melted and mixed together).
  • 5 pour caramel mixture over the chocolate drops then sprinkle remaining batter on top and bake for 15 - 20 minutes cool, slice and enjoy.
  • 6 note: although recipe refers to a batter, it is actually more of a sticky paste. you could add a little more evaporated milk if you wish to make it easier to handle if you wish.
