Creamy Herbed Parmesan Pasta Sauce With Bacon And Mushrooms

Ingredients

- 1/2 lb bacon, cut into pieces
- 1/4 cup chopped onion
- 1 cup canned mushroom stems and pieces, drained (or 1 cup chopped fresh mushrooms)
- 3 garlic cloves, minced
- 1 teaspoon basil
- 1 teaspoon tarragon
- 1/2 teaspoon oregano
- 1 -2 teaspoon flour
- 1 cup milk
- 1/4 cup grated parmesan cheese
- salt
- fresh cracked pepper
Recipe
- 1 place bacon pieces in a large frying pan and fry until about halfway cooked. (or you can do this step in the microwave).
- 2 drain (but don't blot off all the fat) and add chopped onions, mushrooms, and garlic. fry until onion is soft.
- 3 add flour and seasonings and stir until you can't see the flour. gradually add milk while stirring.
- 4 simmer until thickened. (this probably won't take more than a minute or two, depending on what kind of pan you're using.) add parmesan cheese and stir until cheese is melted.
- 5 add to cooked pasta, toss to coat and serve.
