Bircher Muesli

Total Time: 7 mins Preparation Time: 5 mins Cook Time: 2 mins

Ingredients

  • Servings: 14
  • 1/2 cup sunflower seeds
  • 1/3 cup pumpkin seeds
  • 1/3 cup linseeds
  • 1 1/3 cups sultanas (or any combination of dried fruit)
  • 2/3 cup buckwheat groats
  • 1 1/3 cups barley, flakes
  • 2 cups oats
  • 1/2 cup slivered almonds

Recipe

  • 1 mix all ingredients together.
  • 2 put 1/2 cup of the muesli in a bowl with 1/2 cup of cold water, milk or juice, stir, cover and leave overnight in the fridge to soak.
  • 3 for a quick breakfast, prepare as above, cook on high for 1-3 minutes in the microwave.
  • 4 serving suggestions: stir in fresh grated raw apple or other fresh fruit just before serving. to enhance the healthful properties serve with low fat yoghurt and a spoonful of (manuka) honey.
