Chocolate Fudge Brownie

Total Time: 45 mins Preparation Time: 10 mins Cook Time: 35 mins

Ingredients

  • Servings: 12
  • 375 g chocolate (about 1 pkt dark chocolate melts)
  • 200 g butter
  • 1 1/2 cups icing sugar
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla essence
  • 3 eggs
  • 2 cups flour
  • 1 cup nuts, optional (pecans, walnuts etc.)

Recipe

  • 1 melt the chocolate and butter over low heat or in the microwave.
  • 2 remove from heat, adding the icing sugar and mix well.
  • 3 add vanilla essence and eggs one at a time, stirring well to mix.
  • 4 add flour and nuts if using. (the mixture should be wet and elastic in consistency.)
  • 5 pour into a baking paper lined sponge roll tin 20x30 cm and bake at 180°c for 30 to 35 minutes.
  • 6 leave in the tin to cool.
  • 7 when completely cold, lift out and cut into squares.
  • 8 dust with icing sugar to serve.
